000004194876SmallPsoriasis is a common skin condition that presents with red scaling plaques frequently involving the scalp, elbows, and knees.  There may be joint involvement with this condition that is best treated early on to prevent disabling arthritis.  Psoriasis is not contagious and often there is a family history.
The extent of skin involvement can range from localized areas to generalized body involvement. In the United States, two out of every hundred people have psoriasis.

There are many different ways to treat psoriasis. In our office, the decision to employ a particular treatment is based on many factors including the patient’s age, the type of psoriasis, its location, extent and severity.
