Steven M. Shumer

Steven M. Shumer, M.D.

Board Certified Dermatologist

Dr. Shumer graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree and also received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He did his internship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Shumer completed his dermatology residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. During his training he published research in the treatment of difficult warts with Bleomycin injections. He became a board certified dermatologist upon completion of his residency training.

Dr. Shumer served as chairman of the dermatology department at William Beaumont Hospital from 1995 to 2011. He has been voted “Top Doc” in dermatology, numerous times as reported annually in metropolitan Detroit’s Hour Magazine. This award is determined by 16,000 surveys mailed to M.D.s and D.O.s who nominate colleagues they deem “the best” in their given specialties.

Dr. Shumer is active in the Michigan Dermatological Society and has served as chairman of the ethics committee. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Staff-Heather Roebuck NP

Heather Roebuck, N.P.

Board Certified Nurse Practitioner

Heather Roebuck has extensive experience in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Eastern Michigan University, a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Wayne State University, and a Master’s degree from Oakland University School of Nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Heather is completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in McAuley School of Nursing at the University of Detroit Mercy.

Heather has published a dermatology column as well as numerous CEU articles and she is a national speaker for the Dermatology Nurses’ Association and various companies and universities. She is actively involved in dermatologic research and is a national cosmetic instructor. In addition, she is an editorial board member for the Nurse Practitioner Journal as well as a nurse practitioner mentor and university faculty. Heather enjoys assisting patients of all ages and abilities with various conditions of the skin and cosmetic dermatology.

Heather is a Scientific Advisory Board Member for the iPLEDGE acne program, an active member of the Dermatology Nurses Association, the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau (Honor Society of Nursing).

Adam Gomoll PA C

Adam Gomoll, P.A.-C.

Board Certified Physician Assistant

Adam Gomoll is a highly skilled dermatology physician assistant with more than ten years of experience in a private practice dermatology setting. He graduated from Grand Valley State University with his Bachelor of Science degree, received his Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Chatham College in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and continued with post graduate studies in dermatology at the University of Texas in Dallas, receiving Diplomat Status as a Dermatology Physician Assistant. Adam has a special interest in adolescent and surgical dermatology.

Adam is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants.
