Steven M. Shumer, M.D.Board Certified Dermatologist
Dr. Shumer graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree and also received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He did his internship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Shumer completed his dermatology residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. During his training he published research in the treatment of difficult warts with Bleomycin injections. He became a board certified dermatologist upon completion of his residency training.
Dr. Shumer served as chairman of the dermatology department at William Beaumont Hospital from 1995 to 2011. He has been voted “Top Doc” in dermatology, numerous times as reported annually in metropolitan Detroit’s Hour Magazine. This award is determined by 16,000 surveys mailed to M.D.s and D.O.s who nominate colleagues they deem “the best” in their given specialties.
Dr. Shumer is active in the Michigan Dermatological Society and has served as chairman of the ethics committee. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Steven Grekin
Dr. Steven Grekin, founder of The Grekin Skin Institute, provides dermatological care within many segments of the medical market in Michigan and is rapidly expanding nationally. His primary mission is to create the vision for service cultures to deliver extraordinary care and medical treatment for a patient's health and well-being.
As one of the nation's largest dermatology practices, Dr. Grekin continues his family legacy of over 100 years of physicians, including seven dermatologists. Having completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan in Gerontology and his medical degree from Des Moines University, Dr. Grekin was privileged to study under the tutelage of world leaders in dermatology and gerontology. Constantly growing this legacy, Grekin currently has three offices in Michigan with plans for future expansion. He has been a lead researcher at the International Skin Rejuvenation Institute in Paris and Quebec, and provides state of the art skin techniques to patients of all ages. Through his extensive connections within the dermatology community, Dr. Grekin also has been able to bring cutting edge medicines and procedures from the pharmaceutical companies to his Clinical Research Division of Grekin Laboratories.
In addition, Dr. Grekin has provided the inspiration and leadership as Chief Executive Officer for Bedside Medical Group offering a new standard in dermatological care for the elderly. Constantly seeking new solutions, he has created a new standard of care by taking these services to the bedside for the senior market and is expanding the operations in other markets nationally. Dr. Grekin practices at the Franklin, Warren and Wyandotte locations.
Dr. Michelle Bruner
Dr. Bruner received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Michigan and her medical school education from Michigan State University. She graduated as Chief Resident of her dermatology residency from Oakwood Medical Center and the Michigan State University Consortium. Dr. Bruner has lectured on Dermatology topics nationally and is published in multiple medical journals.
Dr. Bruner has a special interest in women's dermatological health, skin cancer prevention, screening and treatment. She treats adult and teenage acne, psoriasis, eczema, hair loss and all diseases of the skin, hair and nails. She brings with her the newest and most up-to-date training available in all aspects of cosmetic and medical dermatology as well as a passion for medicine and patient centered care. Dr. Bruner practices at the Franklin and Wyandotte locations.
Dr. Cory Rubin
Dr. Cory Rubin is excited to join the growing team of renowned dermatologist s caring for patients at the Grekin Skin Institute. With completing his specialized dermatology training at the University of Michigan, along with his previous specialized training in head and neck surgery, Dr. Rubin is excited to bring complete care to his patients medically, surgically and cosmetically.
Dr. Rubin has spent several years researching fundamentals of skin disease in the laboratory and has used this specialized training to translate into superior, evidenced-based patient care. Dr. Rubin has presented at international conferences and has published in several prominent journals.
Dr. Rubin received dual bachelor degrees from the University of Rochester in Biology and Philosophy prior to obtaining his MD degree at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Rubin has interests in all aspects of dermatology and is pleased to bring the most up-to-date care available for medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology.
Adam Gomoll, MPAS, PA-CBoard Certified Physician Assistant
Adam Gomoll is a highly skilled dermatology physician assistant with more than fourteen years experience in general dermatology for adults and children, with special interest in adolescent and surgical dermatology. He graduated from Grand Valley State University with his Bachelor of Science degree, received his Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Chatham College in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and continued with post graduate studies in dermatology at the University of Texas in Dallas, receiving Diplomat Status as a Dermatology Physician Assistant.
Adam is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and the Michigan Dermatology Physician Assistants Group.
Tracy D. St. Germain
Tracy D. St. Germain, MSN, RN, NP-C is a leading expert in Neuromodulators and Dermal Fillers. She is an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner that has been injecting for more than 10 years. Tracy received a Master’s Degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Marshall University, located in Huntington, West Virginia. Tracy has had the privilege of working and studying with the best injectors in the United States. She has had extensive training in anatomy and facial voluminization procedures. Most recently Tracy held a position that allowed her to educate fellow injectors on the safest and most effective anti-aging injection techniques. Tracy currently practices at Franklin Dermatology and Surgical Center, A Grekin Skin Institute Company located in Southfield, Michigan and the Grekin Skin Institute located in Wyandotte, Michigan.
